When I do counseling with teenagers I intend to provide a space so that they can explore the difficulties that come up during this development stage. After a careful discussion about confidentiality, it might also be useful to work alongside their parents or other important people in their life. I believe in a resilience-based approach where adolescents can feel better about themselves, identify and use their strengths to help them to be creative defining new ideas to their problems. I can help with issues related to family conflict, anxiety, depression, anger management, self-esteem, identity, digital use, academic difficulties and difficulties with peers.
The sessions should include the most relevant people in the child’s life and the child itself can participate if it is considered appropriate.
