Psychotherapy for Anxiety
I provide adult individual psychotherapy for people who are affected by anxiety. During therapy, firstly, it is important to explore the context in which anxiety manifests itself, as well as, how disruptive it is for the individual’s life. It is also useful to understand what are the first signs, so that a more preventative approach can be used. We can then start to develop strategies to help the person to feel more in control and to break the anxiety cycle such as, breathing techniques or a mindfulness routine. Moreover, it is also important to think about the person’s life as whole, not only the life style such as, exercise, eating habits and sleep routine but also other stresses that might be contributing to the anxiety, like job difficulties or relationship problems.
